Browsing: This website does not collect personally identifiable information from your computer when you browse the site. Pixel Tags: The third party service providers mentioned above serve and host our advertisements on other sites. To track the effectiveness of our advertisements on other sites, we use pixel tags (also known as clear gifs, beacon gifs, 1-by-1 gifs, or web bugs). Pixel tags are not visible to the user of the site and consist of a few lines of computer coding. If you are visiting our site from an advertisement on another site, the pixel tag references the cookie you received when you clicked on the advertisement. The pixel tag then registers this activity with the third party advertising company to allow us to count the number of times an advertisement is accessed. In addition, we also measure the responses generated from a particular ad. In addition, we track the aggregate number of emails read and whether any of the links in the email were accessed. No other information is collected or used from pixel tags.
Securing the Transmission and Storage of Information: In limited circumstances, we may collect payment information such as credit card numbers and billing information where needed to complete a transaction such as making an online contribution. Your payment information is transferred over a Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) line provided you are using a SSL enabled browser. This ensures that your information is encrypted as it travels over the Internet. This secure mode is enabled before any such information is transmitted from your computer. You will know you are in secure mode when the padlock or key icon in the lower right-hand or left-hand corner of the computer screen appears in the locked position. In addition, when accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from http to https. After information reaches us it is stored on a secure server that resides behind firewalls designed to block unauthorized access from outside our organization.
Email: When you provide your email address, we will occasionally contact you via email and provide information or updates that may be of interest to you. We use a third party email service provider to send emails. This service provider is prohibited from using your email address for any purpose other than to send our email. Every time you receive email you will be provided the choice to opt-out of future emails by following the instructions provided in the email.
Text Messaging (SMS/MMS)
If you opt in to the SHIVA 4 SENATE text messaging program, we collect your mobile phone number, any name or ZIP code you provide, the date and time of your opt-in, the page and consent language shown to you, and your IP address. We use this information only to send you the text messages you asked for, to respond to STOP and HELP requests, and to keep a record of your consent. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. The program is described in our Terms and Conditions.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number, text messaging opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We also do not give this information to any other candidate, committee or organization for its own use.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of information sharing described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. The only exception is for the service providers that help us operate our text messaging program on our behalf, such as our texting platform, messaging aggregators, mobile carriers and website hosting providers. They may use your mobile information only to provide those services to us. Apart from that, we disclose your mobile information only if the law requires us to.
Your consent to receive text messages applies only to SHIVA 4 SENATE. We do not transfer or assign it to anyone. We keep opt-in and opt-out records while you are subscribed and for a period after you opt out.
